About James Cupples    

Migrated from Britain in 1970 ,born into singing family toured around with my parents. Since then I have worked on the Midday Show ,Steve Vizard Show, IMT(In Melbourne Tonight),Denise Drysdale, GMA with Bert Newton and toured the U.S.A and finished up the tour at the legendary" Whiskey A Go GO ". I've co written songs for the Drama T.V show Neighbours title If I Had You and After Tomorrow. I've been the support act for Dionne Warwick , Ross Wilson , James Reyne, and one of my favorite bands Deep Purple. I am currently working in a band paying homage to the legendary bands of the 70's Led Zeppelin ,Bad Company ,Free and Deep Purple. Working on material for a future album. I was born in Reading, England 15th july 1965, to scottish parents. We migrated to Australia at the age of 4 and grew up in melbourne. On the weekends my parents would sing in the clubs and i would sing along.
They would sing songs by Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Johnny Cash and Patsy Clyne. They should have been famous, they were amazing . They really were!
 
   I joined my first band as a teenager and have worked in several original projects. The defining moment in my direction as a vocalist/musician was turning up to a mates house to hear a record of 'Led Zeppelin'. From then on i wanted to express myself through rock music.
 
   Since then i have continued to stay true to my love of rock. Over a period of 15 years i have steadily worked and made a good living in the corporate, media, session, radio jingle, and coverband scenes.
 
   I am currently the vocalist in the 'Geoff Wells experiment'. He is just an amazing guitarist. What a great band, paying homage to the great bands of the 70's - 'zeppelin', 'Free', 'Bad Company',' Jeff Beck', 'Deep Purple',and more!
 
   I also continue to work on my original solo project. The song : 'The Serpent', is a true expression of the direction i wish to follow!
If i was to ask myself what the future holds. I would say. As a vocalist there comes a time to lay it all on the line. And for me that time is now!!
